The Universe would appear to be talking back to us

Well, since my last post, below, about body surfing into the New Year, it would appear my little family and I are on the backward tidal surge of a wave and are getting sucked up towards the crest of that wave!

Husband had applied for three jobs around the end of 2012/beginning 2013.
Husband heard interest back from all three.
Had two interviews, one for one job here in Brisbane, one for one job in Melbourne.
Husband got the job here in Brisbane, at SouthBank actually. Yay! resigns from current job and gives two weeks notice.
Few days later, Husband hears back from Melbourne job, they like him, want to interview again, they can’t pick between him and one other person, who’s only real advantage was he already lived in Melbourne.

Husband gets job in Melbourne.

Sorry, What?

Yup, Husband, oh clever lad, gets job in Melbourne. Starts on the 18th of February. Yup, in just over two weeks time!
It’s a pretty big pay jump, it’s also a pretty huge move for us!
So this little family will be packing up and high tailing it to old Melbourne town! Ive been there once, for three days, last year, at a work conference. Huzzah!

I’m all mixed up with emotions and I’d say it’ll take me till Christmas or longer to really get all my emotions sorted out!
I know it will be a roller coaster of a year! But that’s why we’re here isn’t it? To ride that roller coaster? I think so.

I’m both sad and excited, and proud and scared and dumbfounded and don’t know where to start first.
All I know is I’m going to ride this baby all the way to Chadstone and Chapel St!

I’ll be posting all the adventures here, on my Facebook page and on my instagram, my handle is #elizabeth_joy_

Peace and love!

Body Surfing into the New Year

When you feel that stirring, that rumble in your soul.
There’s an ocean swell of change about to crash over you.
Lengthen your arms together out in front of you, take a deep breath and throw your body into the whitewash.
Let yourself be carried forward by the force of that swell, and body surf towards the shore, towards change, towards improvement, towards a fresh new beginning.

My personal mantra for 2013.

Just a quickie

This is just a super duper quick post, as I’m sitting in a bar, drinking a cocktail (yes, it’s delicious), waiting. That’s it.
Nothing else.
I’m in SouthBank , Brisbane.
At Grey Stone Bar waiting for Hubby to finish at a job interview near by.
I had nothing to do except wander around SouthBank so remembering the great cocktails at Greystone, I wandered in. And I must say I’m very pleased I did, service is great and the cocktail I’m drinking, even better.
Hope whatever your doing it is out of the heat and your chilled out, *hoping*!

New Year, new you?

20130106-232335.jpg

So it’s the new year and all that….
Do you ponder New Years resolutions? Or is it just another new month….?
I don’t really do resolutions, because of the high unlikelihood of keeping them.
But It does make me feel a little refreshed, and gives me some clarity. It does make me think of all the things I could possibly do and achieve over the next year.
For instance, singing classes, I want to go back to singing classes (I did lessons when I was about 17 and loved them, my teacher was awesome too.), yoga, I MUST start yoga again! My back and limbs and mind NEED me to go back to yoga. More baking and cooking new recipes. Photography classes. Baking classes. Floristry classes. More Op Shopping, so much more Op Shopping and vintage hunting. More swimming in the ocean, I am ever so slightly scared of swimming in the ocean (even though I did it ALL of the time as a kid), so I want to get over that, maybe surfing lessons would help!? Now I’m taking it too far…

But you get my drift.

Do you have a little mental list in your head of all the things you want to try and do this year?
Should we maybe write these down in a book or calendar or blog somewhere to remind us we want to do them?
I purchased a great calendar from Kikki K a few weeks ago and it might just help me, it has cute motivational and inspirational quotes on every month. Note the pic, it’s from January.

So, I shall keep checking in here and letting you know of my steps closer to these little goals, and many others I have on my mental list. Feel free to do the same.
